Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Happy New year Merry Christmas 2016-17.jpg

As we approach the end of the year, we want to send a huge thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us this year.

A special thank you in particular to Elavation who continues to support our work year on year, as they made a very generous commitment to Taylan’s Project back in 2015, by launching the UK’s largest HR28 Boom Lift fully liveried in our charity colours and logo. Their aim is to donate a percentage of the revenue to Taylan’s Project every quarter for the life of the machine in their rental fleet.  Their generosity will ensure that we have a steady income stream ...for many years to come, so we can continue to fund vital research into the biggest cancer killer of children and those under the age of 40. The branding of the machine, will also give us the awareness and exposure that we so desperately need too.

Thank you to Karen Harrison and the Heathrow Charity Board for awarding us with funds raised throughout their offices in 2016.

Toyota in Burgh Heath Epsom-Surrey, for making a very generous donation to Taylan’s Project, from their ‘Toyota fund for a better tomorrow’, so we can continue to support our families who desperately need holidays.

A massive thank you to Phil and Mark who travelled by bike and boat from Gourock to Garve, via the Inner and Outer Hebrides, covering 464 miles. 10 islands. 8 ferries in 7 days.

To Matt Gregory and Fran Hill for taking part in the Liverpool Marathon.

Thank you to Dee Brown as she managed to conquer her fear of heights, abseiling 229 feet down the Canonteign Falls.

A huge thank you to ‘The Famous 7’ Richard Willis, Jon Hill, Greg Orme, Calum Hughes, Rob Harper, David Penn and Simon Kinser as they set off on their adventure in the Lake District, cycling 160 miles from Morecambe to Bridlington, climbing over 6,500 feet.

Karen, Manu, Maddie and their family and friends for continuing to support our work – and for raising £3,500 at their fun day - all in memory of their beautiful daughter and sister Jasmine, who sadly passed away in 2009 to a brain tumour.

Gran and Grandad Rawlinson for continuing to make, bake and sell their wonderful cakes, treats, pickles and chutneys!  They seem to have set up a small enterprise and built quite a reputation around the Surrey area with all their talents - always donating 100% of their takings and paying for ingredients out of their own pockets.  We cannot thank you enough.

A huge thank you also to everyone else who took part in many challenges, those who volunteered, donated, supported and organised events. There are so many of you and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

A special thank you also to everyone who sponsored and supported our teddy appeal, helping us to smash our target and enabling us to donate 183 teddies to terminally ill children.  We have been receiving some incredible and heart-warming feedback from both the hospital and the parents, telling us how their children have loved receiving cuddly new friends. We will be writing to each one of you separately who sponsored a teddy and supported the appeal in the New Year.

Last but not least, to all of you who signed the e-petition, leading to a ground-breaking brain tumour debate at Westminster.

Brain Tumour Research launched their latest Report on National Research Funding in October which revealed a troubling status quo in brain tumour funding whilst brain tumour incidents continue to rise. The report gained national press coverage and will underpin all of their campaigning activities during 2017.

The influence of Brain Tumour Research and its member charities in Parliament has never been stronger thanks to you and at the APPG meeting in Westminster earlier in December, scientists, clinicians, patients and MP’s all spoke in favour of the unique strategy set by Brain Tumour Research in long-term research at UK Centres of Excellence.  We will continue to call for urgent investment in brain tumour research.

The continuous help and support really does make a difference, allowing us to provide and fund vital research, purchase equipment and support families, so please continue to help us in the New Year.  We really cannot do it without you.

Once again thank you for your ongoing dedication and generosity. We are continually inspired by our supporters commitment and wish everyone all the very best for 2017.
