Thank you Northampton High School!
On Wednesday 13th December, I was privileged enough to be invited and attend the ‘Celebration of Giving’ service at Northampton High School.
Following nominations put forward at the end of the last academic year, Taylan’s Project was lucky enough to have been chosen as ‘Charity of Choice’ for Selene House and over the last few months, they have been working extremely hard to hold fundraising events in the school and also to raise awareness for our cause. A magic show, bake sale and raffle were some of the key events they organised and we are delighted to say they raised an incredible £377.00!
I found my visit to be extremely rewarding and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about how the school supports other worthy charities throughout the year and just how important it is to them all - to give to those who are less fortunate and require support. Such big hearted and caring individuals, as well as being extremely talented. The Woodwind Quartet, the Choir, the Orchestra and The String Quartet treated us all to some wonderful pieces, putting everyone in the Christmas Spirit! A wonderful welcome and closing words by Headmistress Dr Stringer, really gave us all some food for thought about how important it is to help others and also give your time – especially over the festive period.
With very special thanks to Emily Wilde for putting through the nomination originally and all of those in Selene House for choosing us and helping to organise events and raising vital funds. However, none of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts and amazing organisational skills of Mona Rahnama – Deputy of Charities for Selene House. She has been absolutely remarkable, giving up her own time to make all of the events a success. Thank you also to everyone who attends Northampton High School - for being so welcoming and supportive. You are all truly inspirational.
